What lift-up storage means
Your lower steps do two jobs.
Shoe Hole is different from a cupboard or a bank of drawers built into the side of a staircase. The storage is opened from above by lifting the adapted lower steps.
We create an easy lift
The lower steps are adapted, reinforced and fitted with lifting hardware for practical everyday access.
We refit the finish
Your existing carpet is kept and refitted so the closed steps still look like part of the staircase.

Shoe Hole is designed primarily for modern and new-build homes from around 2000 onwards, but every staircase is different. A clear photo from the front and a view inside or beside the under-stairs cupboard help us see whether the lower void can be used.
If the photos are not clear enough, you can choose a video stair check instead. We will not confirm an installation until suitability has been checked.
